12 Healthy Barbeque Tips for a Healthier Christmas

Christmas means fun, friends and Food!!! Everything from starters, barbeques, delicous cuisines, desserts and drinks, we enjoy every course of the meal during Christmas vacations. However, barbeques are a hot favorite during the winters, especially during the Christmas holidays. But, amidst this celebration and food fest, you should never forget your health. Thus, to help you satisfy your taste buds without neglecting your health, here are a few healthy barbeque tips to look out for.

  • Trim off any visible fat from the meat. You can also reduce the meat size when you serve.

  • Never serve burnt or charred meats.

  • If you love barbeques, fish should be your choice for a better health. It is fat free and very good for your health. However, you can keep a check on your serving amount to avoid excess intake of calories.

  • Serve with a lot of salads. Barbeques taste great with salads and some sauce. You can also add salads in your pre-dinner snacks and other nibbles.

  • Use only wholemeal breads or the mixed grain breads. They have more fiber and hence add a lot of nutrition to your barbeques.

  • When it comes to barbeques, alcohols are something most people cant do without. But, for a change you can offer water or non-alcoholic drinks.

  • Plan day-time barbeques along with games like cricket, soccer, tennis and baseball. Dancing on the latest songs is also a great idea.

  • As for maintaining hygiene, try to barbeque only after cleaning the barbeque and cooking tools.
