Act of Shame: Sales Girl Molested And Beaten in Kolkata

Working in a respective top clothing brand showroom, a young salesgirl in Kolkata was eventually molested and beaten by a guy right outside the Salt Lake City Center this Friday. The incident happened when the girl was returning home after a day at work. The accused allegedly stalked and started harassing the girl after she turned down his proposal for marriage. The case was registered at the Salt Lake police station for charges like molestation and injury.

The accused succeeded in running away after the incident and is believed to be a resident of the Lake Town and is employed in a nearby paints factory. The case was nothing but a regular molestation incident, which occurs almost in every city of the country nowadays. However, what actually shocked the police was that the entire incident occurred in the presence of hundreds of shoppers as well as passerby’s who simply stood still and watched the entire incident without trying to save the girl. Moreover, none came ahead to intervene or stop the accused while he brutally punched and dragged the victim on the streets.

Based on the investigation, the victim was in a relationship with the accused for 3 years. But due to certain reasons, the girl distanced herself from the boy and also refused his marriage proposal. The chief investigating officer stated, “On Friday night, as the woman finished her duty at the clothes showroom, she came out of the City Centre and came face to face with the accused.”

The victim screamed for help, but none of the people standing around the mall helped her neither did they call the police. When asked about the incident, the victim said that she was forced to leave her previous job due to constant harassment she faced from the guy, just because she refused to marry her.

In order to take the investigation further, the police will look into the CCTV footage for ascertaining the facts. A manhunt will be launched soon to capture the accused and bring justice to the victim.
