Dr Biswanath Gouda is a well trained Advanced Laparoscopic GI & HPB Surgeon. He did his medical schooling from Topiwala National Medical College & B.Y.L.Nair Charitable Hospital and then completed surgical residency (DNB Surgery) from P.D.Hinduja National Hospital, Mumbai.

He did his Fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplant Surgery at Medanta Institute of Liver Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine.

He has two Fellowships in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery; from Scripps Clinic, California USA and from Institute of Laparoscopic Surgery with Dr JL Dulucq, Bourdeax, France.

He is one of the few surgeons in India to have accomplished International Fellowship in Laparoscopic Hepato-Biliary Pancreatic Surgery with Dr Brice Gayet in Paris.

Being a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University, USA, he is very passionate about clinical research and academic activities. He has several papers published, both in national and international journals and has given presentations at various scientific forums worldwide.

His research interest include treatment options for morbidly obese patients, treatment modalities for liver & pancreatic cancer, improving laparoscopic access for liver surgery and providing minimal access  Gastro-intestinal surgery for weaker sections of the society.
