Beer is made by Men, Wine is made by God! – Martin Luthar

These words add a lot of meaning to all those who love wine. More than a beverage, wine can be considered a health drink. And to develop the taste for it, you need to choose it rightly. A wine professional or a sommelier is just the person to help you with it.

Introducing one of India’s very few wine professionals, Gagan Sharma, a sommelier and also a certified mixologist. He has been certified from the court of Master Sommeliers, UK, a certificate that is regarded as the pioneer of wine education across the globe. He is also one of the youngest and only few Wine Society of India certified trainers in the country.

He spends most of his time discussing wine with his guests and clients, helping restaurants and hotels choose the best collection of wine for their guests and conducting sessions in India on behalf of the Institute if Wine + Beverage Studies (IWBS). He also heads the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, London and manages overseas online marketing for Wi-Not services.

Moreover, he has played a pivotal role in organizing the Unione Italiana Vini (U.I.V) training camps in Delhi, India. Gagan has also been one of the core people who have set up the Indian Sommelier Championship 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
