Dr. Mahawar is a Senior Consultant in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery with Indraprashta Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi. Prior to this, he worked as a consultant bariatric surgeon with Sunderland Royal Hospital in England.

Sunderland bariatric unit is one of the busiest bariatric units within UK where surgeons have performed more than 3000 bariatric procedures with zero 30-day mortality and very low complication rates.

Dr. Mahawar is a dedicated bariatric and metabolic surgeon; he does not perform any other type of surgery. He has been an invited faculty at several local, national and international events. He has over 80 (including abstracts) publications to his credit. He regularly teaches bariatric surgery to surgical trainees, write in medical journals, and maintains a popular blog and Facebook Page.
