I always had a liking towards making what I wanted to wear since I was as young as 10. The fancy towards creating and choosing colors goes back to as long as I have ever remembered!

I have never designed costumes for films. Although, I have personally styled Bollywood celebrities for over 15 years now!

Styling Mahie was a lot of fun, as she herself is a very open individual, and loves trying out new cuts, styles and colors. We have had a complete style change in Mahie’s promotions for GOG movie, wherein there were a lot of transitions from the Indian styles to more fluid drape westerns.

My Vintage Summer Bridal line is a collection very close to my heart. It is designed for the contemporary Srring woman of today. The color palette is champagne, golds and nude pinks. The embellishments are hand embroidered vintage gold lace motifs and the drapes are fluid and have an aura of our ornate heritage.

Every creation is a challenge to do better than my best. Creatively I enjoy dressing my brides as I feel the joy that I see on their faces when they simply love their wedding ensembles are extremely self satisfying. Quoting one of my brides Forum Soni who lives in New York and has just received her outfit yesterday says “Received my wedding outfit today and I was speechless. It’s just so perfect and I really have no words. Thank you.”

The wedding season this year will say a lot of vintage style dressing inspired from the sixties. The color palette will comprise of corals, fern greens, peaches and golds. There will be various new styles of drapes which will super cede the overdone embroidered look.

I seek a lot of inspiration from nature as it has a never ending palette of colors to choose from.

The absolute must haves in your wardrobe should be a very good pair of denims, a white shirt, the little black dress, a gold blouse that you can team with most Indian saris, a good workout gear and a perfect holiday resort dress.

Having completed 21 years in the fashion industry all I have to say is that we have come a long way and creativity can only go along forever. We have made a marked identity in the world market as well and moreover designers globally are using our heritage as a source of inspiration!
