Review

Kochadaiiyaan is an adventurous film and a real treat for all Thalaivar fans. This periodic epic tale has almost all the spices that make it one of the most loved animated films not just for the kids, but also the adults. It has romance, action and also a decent screenplay that looks fascinating.

Rajnikanth is a Superstar, and hence supreme in this flick. He plays the role of Pandya King Kochadaiiyaan Ranadheeran who is a good and kindhearted king with great judgmental qualities. Every character in the film, whether it is Deepika playing the role of Vadhana Devi, the love interest of Rana (young Rajnikanth) or Jackie Shroff (King Mahendra) who wishes to assassinate Kochadaiiyaan and take over his kingdom. The story is all about Rana and how he battles the huge army to regain his kingdom.

Talking of direction, debutant director Soundarya R Ashwin (daughter of Rajnikanth) has done a fantastic job in the film. She has great proficiency in graphic designing which makes this film extremely realistic. She has taken the Indian animation films to a new level with Kochadaiiyaan. However, the 3D format of the film is not at all equivalent to other Hollywood films, but is comparatively good enough.

The action in the film also deserves a huge applause. The action stunts have been choreographed by Hollywood’s famous action co-ordinator Michael.

A.R Rahman has contributed his bit to the film by composing the songs and background music. However, the songs will only be remembered until you are watching the film. They are not that melodious that you fall in love with them. Overall, yes Kochadaiiyaan is a must watch not only for all the kids but also the entire family. So, book your shows this weekend and give your child a real treat with the adventurous film Kochadaiiyaan.
