10 Uneasy Symptoms During Menstruation That Are Perfectly Normal!

During first 2 days of period, women go through various problems which makes them up and down with uneasiness. Due to hormonal changes in the body, women come across bloating, back pain, mood swings and a lot many things which they surely do not love experiencing. However, few women think that these symptoms aren’t healthy and pops in pain killers. These symptoms before and during period are very normal and one shouldn’t be stressful for the same.

Here are some of the symptoms your body faces during Menstruation, which are completely normal.

1.Acne and Pimples

During menstruation there’s a raise in pimples, acne and zits on the skin. They are the result of increased sex hormones and androgen in the body, which makes the oil glands hyperactive and causes clogged skin.

2. Painful Breasts

Many women in menstruation feel pain and swelling of breasts due to hormonal changes and progesterone secretion. It deters as you complete the period. A gentle warm coconut or olive oil massage can reduce the pain.

3. Swelling of Body

Due to hormonal changes and excess secretion of estrogen during menstruation, excess fluid accumulates in body tissues, causing water retention. It passes as the menses end, you can get rid of your swollen legs, stomach and breast by taking an Epsom Salt bath for 15-20 minutes.

4. Blood Clots

Small clumps of blood can be seen during periods which could red, brown, dark red or black and are completely harmless. It’s a part of normal shedding of the uterine lining. To get relief put a warm compress on your lower abdomen for 15-20 minutes 2-3 times a day.

Changes in Estrogen and progesterone may affect the headache related chemicals in brain. Many women with migraines are found to be effected with before or during period headaches. Yoga and deep breathing would help. You can also extract handful of mint leaves crush and place on forehead and temple.

6. Nausea and Vomiting

Many women face Nausea during in periods, some women even face vomiting, there’s no issue but it makes you weak and tired. It causes due to the production of prostaglandin which causes the walls of Uterine contract leading to cramps and Nausea. Drinking peppermint, Ginger tea or even smelling the freshly chopped lemon would also help.

7. Bloated Stomach

Major fluctuations in Estrogen and Progesterone causes swelling, bloating near the abdominal area which is a very annoying feeling. Drink more water or you can also have Herbal tea like Ginger, fennel or green tea.

8. Loose Bowel movements

Diarrhea like symptoms during period is not an issue at all. It occurs due to higher release of prostaglandins which cases more uterine contractions.

9. High Body temperature

The basal body temperature increases after ovulation and continues the same until few days before the next period. This is due to hormonal fluctuations throughout the period. Drinking few cups of Ginger or basil tea would reduce the temperature or body ache.

10. Brown blood discharge

It might freak out many women but there’s nothing to worry about here as the color of the blood red changes to dark due to oxidization of the blood that has stayed long in the ovaries. Include Papaya and Parsley in your food can reduce the brown blood discharge.

If you ever go through any of the above symptoms, go easy they are normal; however if they exceed more than 2-3 days and happens in excess do consult your gynecologist.
