A fairy tale life and wedding! The life of Arpita Khan, little sister of big brother Salman Khan, is just like one of those Cinderella stories that we have read as kids. Salim Khan and Helen brought home this little girl, named her Arpita and welcomed her into their 24 member family who live together.
Look at her today, smart and grown up, she is a fashion marketing and management graduate and works for one of Mumbai’s top interior designing firm. She is raised up as a princess and has all her wishes and demands fulfilled by her loving family. And this quite perfectly explains why the Khan family has spent crores’ of rupees on her wedding, a total that is bigger than the combined costs of all other Khan family weddings.
She wanted to marry in a palace and her wish was rightly granted. The big fat and star studded wedding of the Khan sister is the talk of the town. Starting from the floral pink wedding card with the goodies, to the dresses, accessories, makeup, guests invited and the most catchy is the venue is what being looked up at.
The pre-ceremonies of the wedding which includes Sangeet and Mehendi were held at Salman Khan’s residence ‘Galaxy’. Bollywood is said to be one big fat family which got proved from this wedding. Everyone was there to bless the Khan sister and her husband Aayush Sharma. Let’s come out with the intricacies of the wedding.
Dresses and Accessories
Abu Jani, Seema Khan, Falguni and Shane Peacock are some of the designers whose dresses were put on by the celebrities present at the wedding. To make an observation on the colors worn, pastel shades are out while the bright and vibrant colors are in fashion. The beautiful and toned up ladies looked pretty in their Indo- Western wear and Indian Sarees. Among the gentlemen Jodhpuris and Blazers won with an added Pagadi (turban). Ladies were jeweled up with pearls and kundan neck-pieces, earrings, bangles and teekas. We also found that diamonds are out of taste.
Make-up
The guests and family members were looking picture perfect with those cakes and cream on. Combination of bright shades with nude make up and bright lipsticks was found common among the ladies. The color pink and red pretty much looked hot on everyone. The bride’s look was catchy with the minimal make up and heavy jewelry.
The venue and food
For his sister’s wedding, Salman Khan had booked the whole of Taj Falaknuma Palace of Hyderabad for two days which cost him 2 crores. The beautiful tradition of Rajasthan comes out her which showcases the Rajputana architecture. It has a dining table for hundred people with lush green gardens. Food included the famous Biryanis and gosht with lots of royal and wide variety of other items.
Guests
A-list celebrities, politicians, designers were present at this grand occasion making it a star studded wedding. The Khans- Aamir and Shahrukh were present along with Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, Kabir Khan, Priyanka Chopra and many more. It was surprising not to see Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Deepika Padukone, the Chopras and Bachchans.
A few celebrities who could not attend the wedding showed up in the reception at Mumbai. The co-stars of Salman Khan showed up with great enthusiasm. Sonakshi Sinha, Karishma Kapoor, a pregnant Genelia accompanied Ritesh Deshmukh and Hrithik Roshan are among some the celebrities present at the reception.
Arpita’s Thanks-Giving Speech
The most touching moment of the wedding was when actress Priyanka Chopra read out Arpita Khan’s thanksgiving speech. She had to read it on her behalf as she was very emotional and would break down while reading. The words she wrote goes like this- “I am the luckiest girl as I am brought up in a family like mine where my three brothers are my pillars of strength. Sohail Bhai and I shared the same room till he was married, Arbaaz Bhai always guided me between good and bad while Salman bhai has the biggest heart. I can never do wrong to him and in whatever I do, he was always there to support me.”
This is surely is the most watched out wedding of this season where all three Khans bonded together, where a Muslim family’s adopted Hindu girl became a part of Punjabi family, where the girl rescheduled her wedding dates just to coincide with the golden anniversary of her parents wedding.
