Diwali Styling Tips : Opt The Right Outfit, Makeup This Festival!

This is my favorite time of the year.. a slight nip in the air, fireworks and Diwali shopping. So the festival of lights is here and I know you girls are planning on how to doll up this Diwali. Some of you might also be planning an outfit and look to adorn at your office Diwali party. So here are a few of my tips on how you should get ready this Diwali.

You can forget about the regular traditional silhouettes this season, a lot of my designer friends are experimenting this season with long styled Indian dresses that have a look of an anarkali but are actually long gowns. These are being designed in two pieces sets also with an inner kurta of a different print and an outer jacket sometimes in an angrakha style.

You can also accessorize them with long traditional necklaces if you like to try heavy neck-pieces with Buddha pendants.

For Makeup – I like to go bold and glittery. If you have a good skin, you can use a foundation with a light to medium coverage like Gurlain Terracotta Joli Teint. Don’t forget to contour and apply a bronzer instead of a blusher this time. I like to use a lot of highlighter for that glow.

For my eyes, I use browns and burnt reds with copper shimmers. Add to it a beige color kajal that will open up my eyes and a lot of Mascara. Use fake eyelashes if you like to go bold.

For lipsticks, my favorite will be my Shade no. 5 and 8 from my own range of Long lasting liquid lipsticks in matte.  They are both beautiful reds to go perfect with the festive mood.

I am soon going to post a Diwali look on my YouTube channel. Do check out my YouTube channel for more tips on Makeup for different occasions. A very happy and safe Diwali to you all.
