This is a team of three entrepreneurs who believe in the power of youth. Yes, the only marketing website of India that offers student discounts, save pocket money. We got a chance to get in touch with the CEO of this website, Hiral Shah. Here are some of the excerpts from our conversation-

    The website save pocket money is a brain baby of two friends, Rahul Mahajan and Jinal Shah; Jinal being my husband. All three of us had gone to the United Kingdom to pursue our higher education. We had come across a very interesting concept there; which was the exclusive offers for the students. This idea just stayed with us and when we came back to the country we thought of doing something on the same lines for the youth of our country as it did not exist here.

    Youth being the major population of our country needs us is what we believe. Looking at the wide ratio of this major chunk of people, not much has been done for them. What we strongly feel is that they need our attention. Enough has been done for the senior citizens of this country so we just thought why not them.

    Oh well, this concept is highly appreciated by the students though it has been a tough journey for us to convince the various brands for student discount. Getting them on board was a task, but we are going smooth now. We have crossed around getting 10,000 registrations in five months and over 100 brands are on our board which is good enough. Though we keep our fingers crossed to get more.

    We are currently based only in Mumbai, but are planning to expand in other cities soon. We do not miss any of the college events and fests in Mumbai. We participate in fests all across Mumbai. We make sure that our presence is everywhere and that people get to know about us more and more. With respect to the compensation, students find it a privilege to be part of us. They get to showcase their marketing skills so, in a way we give them a platform to showcase their talent rather than thinking in the monetary terms.

    See like we know, there are two sides to every coin. What I believe is that the youth should be focused towards the inspirational side of it. They should concentrate on the positive side and the discounts they are getting through our websites. We were never given such privilege when young. They should focus towards a better horizon which we are giving.

    We look forward for good marketing and communication skills that are of utmost importance in today's life. Last 10-20 years, these skills did not play much importance or a major role. The face of Save pocket money can be from any college or any brand. Just one thing that bothers us is the difficulty that our youth faces with that with the online portals. Though things are changing and we are highly optimistic. We are shortly going to come up with our App that would help more people access it.

    Yes, definitely the response initially had been really good. We were successful in getting good brands and representatives. We had got 500 registrations in the first month itself as people were really happy to get and to offer discounts. Now within six months we have a booming 10,000 registrations.

    In Indian social culture, it is definitely not easy to balance life. I was, or rather have been juggling with the social and professional balls in day to day life. It is good to be career oriented and do something really nice for others. I just prefer being out of the comfort zone and work hard.

    The only message that I would like to convey is- "Get out! Do something for yourself and show the world that you have got loads and loads of potential to prove it! So why not give the best.
