Well, the music industry has as you know grown exponentially in the last 20 years. There is that much more talent around, there are more music schools and it has definitely become easier to be an independent artist. One can record easily especially as studios & technology have become more accessible. And the number of venues where one can perform has grown. We still have a long way to go. But I have great hope, we have come this far, we can push the boundaries some more.

Not at all! I was in the art business for over 15 years for a reason. I totally enjoyed it, loved every show that I did, enjoyed every studio visit that I made. I still have wonderful friends in the art business. However that cycle was done with & it was time to move on. I believe we all are here for a reason & sometimes the path that we are destined to walk is stronger than what we may wish to do or have the courage to do. Things happen when they have to.

The album is still in the creative stage where things aren’t completely defined. But, it will be moving on from the second album, the process however started with the second one. It is much like life & the stages of life. Priorities change every year, therefore concerns change & if one is staying true to oneself then the music you create will also tell the story of your heart & soul & head and where it is at! ‘Dancing Free’ led to ‘Hope Faith Time & Me’ and now the next title will also be in keeping with the last two but will define or emphasize a different set of emotions.

I would hope Honesty. But then that is for the listener to decide. I sing & play the guitar as I am most at peace and happiest when I am with the music. Style wise, I would define it as Acoustic Folk / Alternative music. It is lyrical, romantic (not in the obvious ways). It is unfortunately definitely idealistic. Did I just end up describing who I want to be?

Working with other musicians has by & large been a lot of fun. Everyone brings something unique to the table. They bring their styles & their histories with them. Since I am a people’s person I love that. Sometimes people are not very nice, but then that is life. I enjoy the variety of experiences that I have with each person & I end up learning something new from everyone, even the not so nice ones.

Gosh at this point I feel like I have been a mother forever. I lived in a joint family where there were seven kids growing up together. I was the one with oldest kids. I was the one that took charge of the battalion a lot of the times. They have all grown up to be fabulous young adults. I am sure it was challenging at times, but the years go by so fast that it does not matter any more.

Firstly the music itself keeps me alive and then my daughters who are my strength. My family is my support system, also my friends who are incredible & my passion for travel together make what I am. I have a healthy mix of all that in my life. I also love to spend a lot of time by myself. So, I try to balance all my needs & keep it going.

Are you sure that the rape cases have increased or that we are just hearing about it more? I think things were kept hidden in the past & now things are more out in the open. It has stopped being a disgrace to come out & say that you were raped or molested. It is no longer a shame. I would imagine the statistics haven’t really changed drastically. What has changed is a woman's ability to get justice for herself.

Maybe, maybe not! On one hand, I would not like to create something in a forced manner. At the same time I am a woman so most of my songs would be from my perspective which automatically makes it a woman’s song. However I think being a humanitarian is far more important. Values do not differ for the sexes. What is right & wrong stays the same for both sexes!

That is a tough one! I think the most important thing is to ‘Know Yourself’. It was the hardest thing for me to do but, when I embarked on that process, being happy became much easier. “He who knows others is wise; he who knows himself is enlightened.” ― Lao Tzu
