Decorating homes is something that’s inherent in me. It’s especially close to my heart. The whole idea of conceptualising thehomelabel.com was to give customers a dose of styling their homes on a very reasonable budget while not underestimating the power of accentuating the smallest of spaces. I also found that people now, mostly singles and newly married couples, are more willing to invest in a “home” rather than just an apartment or house. They’re interested in style, and how to fill their space with their preferences all through suitable accessories. And this is where thehomelabel.com and I come in!

We have a very clear business model which in itself separates us from our competitors. I’m very particular that everything is curated and retailed at amenable prices. We are building and selling a brand as opposed to the usual marketplace offerings and in order to compete, we strive to ensure the same levels of quality, product range, customer service and promptness. In terms of qualities, I feel like thehomelabel.com is evocative of old world and vintage charm as well as subtle elegance!

It can be very challenging but I love working on both of my beautiful brands! It’s important to me, because I love each of them equally – they’re labels that are especially close to my heart. So while it is difficult, it completely consumes me – only in the very best sense there is!

I’m like the average working mother! There’s time that I set aside for my work and time, for my dear kids!

In terms of trends, I’m completely in awe of the recently declared colour of the year – Radiant Orchid – purple hues are big this season! A few other trends I’m following at the moment, are liquid mercury, dull glimmer inspired surfaces, as well as nautical accents (we even have a space devoted exclusively to this trend!). Colours are huge, especially beautiful, bright pops this year and I would say that baroque prints and ornate accents are coming back this 2014!
