Kashi Art Gallery

The entire city of Kochi can be covered partly by foot, or by bicycle or even by hiring a car for rent. Irrespective of the mode of transport, a visit to this timeworn Dutch home in the city is a must. Kashi Art Gallery was transformed over 12 years ago into one of the popular visionary art havens. Constantly reinventing itself, this place has become a social and cultural sphere for the contemporary art crowd. The gallery has seen quite a number of important exhibits by prolific artists that include Sosa Joseph, GR Iranna, AnoliPerera, Zakkir Hussein and others. While the gallery educates the artistic part of you, the adjoining café satisfies the hunger by providing guests with tasty food, excellent coffee and fueled artsy banter.

David Hall

Similar to Kashi Art Gallery, this space is also soaked in colonial history. The Dutch East India Company constructed David Hall in 1695. Originally a majestic bungalow, it was named after its last inhabitant. Currently, the building houses a number of art exhibitions, live performances, talks, artistic workshops and film screenings. Apart from being an art gallery, David Hall also serves as Kochi’s cultural center, supporting contemporary visual practice and dialogue between various forms of creative expression.

Aspinwall House

Named after the English trader, John Aspinwall, the art gallery is sea facing. It originally served as the trader’s headquarters for his company that dealt in various Kerala products such as ginger, pepper, coir, spices, tea and coffee. Aspinwall House has currently transformed into a lovely cultural hub ever since it became the primary venue of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. The building plays home to the production of artistic creativity on the whole.

Tucked away in the cobblestoned seaside town of Kochi are more notable art havens that include Vancasso Art Gallery, Pepper House, Moidu’s Heritage Plaza, Chaithanya Art gallery, and the Kerala Museum. Explore the creative community by biking from point to point, walking along the lovely seaside paths or by covering the entire art hub stretch by choosing several services such as Zoomcar self drive cars Kochi has to offer.
