The Jungle Book Movie Review

The Jungle Book

All childhood memories coming back alive!! Thank you Jon Favreau for making this film for us, for every Indian who watched the cartoon every Sunday on Doordarshan. With the movie almost about to begin, I could literally feel the anxiousness in the air. Every person, kid or an adult eagerly waited for the first historic glimpse of Mowgli and his friends.

The movie is perfect in every way! Whether it is the sprawl on the branch where Mowgli, Bagheera and Baloo hang out most of the time or the fierce escape from a tiger, the movie has supreme visual effects which will keep you stunned. And yes, how can I forget Sher Khan?? He, with his rough and angry voice (Idris Elba) is sure to keep you awake for several nights.

The movie begins with Mowgli…. a 10 year old boy who is finding it difficult to grow up like his wolf siblings. The story is about him and his wolf pack who are in the midst of a Water Truce caused due to a drought! The scarcity brings peace among all the animals in the jungle, except the ever furious Sher Khan. Not overlooking the safety of Mowgli, Bagheera suggests Raksha to take Mowgli to the human clan for his safety. And this is where the real Adventure begins in the film.

Hats off to the Graphic team which made the talking animals look and sound real. Hats off to every individual who helped in making this truly mind numbing spectacle. So, yes….this weekend cancel all your appointments, book your tickets and immerse yourself into this classic movie! A must must watch for one and all!!!
