With a long weekend in the corner, Indians are happy to receive 2 mega stars shining in two different flicks. With Rustom and Mohenjo Daro been released today, it seems audience having a difficult call to make; however, it isn’t that hard though as we have a comparative movie review for all our readers. We are sure this would support your decision making. Here you go:

Rustom

With Independence Day around, Rustom (Akshay Kumar) gives us an insights of patriotism, after Baby, Holiday and Airlift. Rustom is the cine version of 1959 sensational Murder by Commander K M Nanavati vs State of Maharashtra that left the country to witness a change in Indian Judicial system. Rustom directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and written by Vipul K Rawal is a fiction+fact story line that revolves around a Infamous Murder case. Madly in love with his wife Cynthia ( Ileana D’Cruz) , Akshay is the victim of cheat, who then murders his wife’s lover Vikram Makhija (Arjan Bajwa) and whose revenge is swore by his sister Preeti Makhija (Esha Gupta).

The first half of the movie is dedicated to setup the plot with Akshay shining more in the second half. The movie, though with few flaws keeps you glued with that emotional connect with Rustom. The sharp editing, unadulterated story line, that intriguing Court proceedings is something you would not like to miss. It’s about the Patriotism, Loyal Officer, A generous Man Vs. A  Murderer all in one man!

Mohenjo Daro

Making a period movie isn’t an easy task at all, as the chances of leaving mistakes behind are too high; however Mohenjo Daro, the much awaited movie is out today with smileys that have different expressions. Post success of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodhaa Akbar with Hrithik Roshan, expectations from this ‘Indus Valley Civilization’ flick is a little high.

The good over evil drama revolves around a peasant, Sarman (Hrithik Roshan) who fights against oppressive land lordship lead by Maham (Kabir Bedi). With splendour set up and high production value and historical narration, choreography, AR Rahman Music and screenplay, the movie has a mixed outcome, which isn’t all fine. With a number of flaws being pulled out by historians like headgears, the presence of belly dance and horses has left all Hrithik and Ashutosh fans a little disappointed. The predictable fiction of the once existing storyline is badly portrayed yet has an potential to hold you for Kabir’s Rivalry and Hrithik’s acting. Of Course, nothing can beat Rahman Sir’s Music, Indeed special respect!

Choose any, they are both one time watch movies! Though Rustom might keep you much involved, Mohenjo Daro is to be watched once to critic, from the history books you once learnt in schools. Well, how about watching both?
