Action Jackson

Action Jackson

After giving it a lot of thought, which I could literally not afford to for the past 2.5 hours, I have decided to write this review differently from our general format. Since there is nothing in the plot that I can speak about in particular, I shall speak about the story alongside the review (It is Rowdy Rathore taken to another level and just a 100 times worse – to keep it short).

So basically, Action Jackson starts with Vishi (Ajay Devgan) who is a small time goon who loves dancing! Yes! You heard me right… He loves dancing and does not give up on a single excuse to dance. Khushi (Sonakshi Sinha) considers him to be her lucky charm, weirdly a naked him to be precise, and hangs around until she realises that he is good at heart and falls for him. While this entire drama takes place, an extremely naive background score just keeps on telling you that they are Khushi and Vishi and something about “America” to just make sure that you don’t miss these subtleties.

While you’re still struggling with the really bad story, performances, direction, attempts to put together some might-just-be cool action and the hero, they introduce AJ (Ajay Devgan – II)) who is a super hero in disguise. He could almost put Rajni Sir to shame with all that he can do and you just wonder why he would work for some other don at all! So well, he goes and saves the Don’s sister (Manasvi Mamgai) who is kidnapped by a rival and is advancing towards her. In the process, she loses her heart to him (just to sound stupidly filmy). As the story advances not too far, you wonder if she needed the save at all! She gets strangely orgasmic and dangerously close to men without really having to try too hard anyway. She has a special background score for herself too (no surprises there!) which sounds like something picked straight up from Zee Horror Show. She is super-obsessed about AJ and would do just about anything to get him, one of which is too try and kill Anusha (Yami Gautam). She surprisingly survives and AJ takes a back seat to see her recover.

At some point, both the Devgans come together and decide to screw the villain/vamp’s cases and get back while Anusha is still recovering. Through the second half, you might land up laughing to some of Musa (Kunal Roy Kapur) and Vishi’s jokes just because your mind is too numb to understand anything at all! So all of that happening and some awful songs popping up out of no where, they eventually set things straight and finally bring the story to an end by finally killing the crazy vamp and the extremely unimpressive villain which AJ could have an eternity ago!

All in all, the movie is an awful waste of time, money and energy. Please spare yourself of a lot of painful things this movie might put you through which I might have missed. It is one of those movies I would pay to not watch!
