Daawat-E-Ishq Movie Review

Story

Fighting dowry but with a happy pill! Gulrez Qadir (Parineeti) is a girl from Hyderabad who is absolutely tired and wants to flee away from the dowry trading grooms brought to her by her uncle Anupam Kher. She then bumps into Tariq (Aditya Roy Kapur) a remarkable chef who falls in love with Gullu and before we know it, they start coloring the city walls with their love.

Review

What happens when an award winning director cooks a film using two of the industry’s most promising actors? Result: The dish, here the film, is a savory, a success.

Daawat-E-Ishq is the perfect film for all foodies! I don’t think there has ever been a film based entirely on the theme of Food. Well, this film I suppose is the first one ever. All credits to Habib Faisal for putting together the right ingredients, the right amount of spices and the perfect tadka in Daawat-E-Ishq.

The story is pleasant with a special Social Message, Fight against Dowry, and amazing performances by all the actors. You will feast upon starters (the cute love story), the spicy main course (the twist in the film) and the sweet dish (a happy ending) in this beautifully made film. While you will enjoy the love story in the early half of the film, the twist will keep you sitting at the edge of your chair until the very end.

The performances are superb by all the actors and you will crave to eat some Biryani by the time the movie ends. Parineeti, yet again proves her mettle and gives a solid dhamakedar performance. Aditya, on the other hand, makes direct way to the hearts of all the female fans with his twinkling Kajrare eyes. And baap of all, Anupam Kher with his versatility shows, that he is “The Best of actors” that Bollywood has produced in the past years.

So, even if you are on a diet, make sure you fast and watch the film to enjoy its royal taste and the perfectly cooked Biryani. For me… Daawat-E-Ishq is a sweet watchable and enjoyable film, especially after last week’s disastrous Creature 3D.
