Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania – Review

Story

Born in richness and set to get married to an NRI boy, Kavya Pratap Singh (Alia Bhatt) is on her wedding shopping spree in Delhi. But, she comes across a boy Humpty Sharma (Varun Dhawan) who falls in love with the damsel in the very first sight and tries to win hearts of people for his new found love… will the love win? Will they unite?

Review

Is this film a remake of the Epic film, DDLJ? Well, I’d rather say it is a smart adaptation rather than a remake with several twists and turns to keep you thrilled throughout. The story is kind of sweet, with a boy who is absolutely in love with this to-be-bride and helps her to fulfill all her dreams before she ties the knot. And yes, before they know, love is in the air and Humpty is ready to do almost everything he can, including picking desi achhar for Kavya’s Bauji to win their hearts.

The chemistry between Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan is one of the main reasons you will love the film. They perform seamlessly, as if they are born acting and performing. They hit the right notes every single time they are on the screen. Siddharth Shukla, on the other hand, lacks that spark and fails to charm the audience at times.

Okieee…one performance you will love watching is that of Ashutosh Rana, who plays the role of Kavya’s Bauji. He tricks Varun against Siddharth and enjoys the fun from the backseat.

Shashank Khaitan, the director of the film has done a smart task by adapting DDLJ, a film that even today is loved by the people. The sweet moments are beautifully pictured by him and he does succeed to live-upto that expectation of the viewers.

So, overall the film is good, sweet and lovable. And if you love romance, this one is surely one film you should go for.
