Katti Batti

What seemed like a quirky and an upbeat movie from its trailers is sadly a dull and tiresome film that just makes you wonder why you were even in the theatre for it. The title is fairly irrelevant because the story is a flatline and totally predictable. I had never imagined that anyone could even conceive a “remake” of the extremely disastrous Mann (1999) and believed they could pull it off!

The only saving grace of the film are the performances of the actors. Imran Khan has really tried hard to keep the film alive and admittedly is one of the very few male actors who cry convincingly and really well! Kangana Ranaut sadly didn’t have as much to do but was good in the parts she appeared on screen. All the other actors through the film have played their parts just as well too.

The music isn’t really something that catches your attention. The script and dialogues lack the punch. Most of the humour is covered across the trailers and hence, doesn’t leave the audiences with much to take back. I am not too sure if I am really convinced about the styling. Imran Khan looks neat and suave with the slight Devdas touch to do justice to the role. Kangana Ranaut looks good in a few tradition-defying looks but looks really off in a few others.

Long-story-short, I don’t really think Katti Batti is even a small percent of what it promised and definitely not for someone who can’t do cheesy!
