An actress and a GOOP founder, Gwyneth Paltrow raves about the ‘golden ticket’ beauty treatment called the Mugwort V Steam in a lifestyle newsletter about this Los Angeles based Tikkun holistic Korean spa.
This is a type of “vaginal facial” which has been in for a while now. Ladies go for it quite often but wait! Is that safe? Dr. Jennifer Gunter, a board certified gynecologist rejects it.
Paltrow describes the process as- “you sit on what is essentially a mini-throne, and a combination of infrared and mugwort steam cleanses your uterus, et al.” She adds, “It is an energetic release — not just a steam douche — that balances female hormone levels.” According to her, the V steam also kills the intestinal worms, eases fatigue and headaches or might even help in reviving the menstrual cyle.

Dr. Gunters’ response to Paltrow sounds more scientific and rational. She says that vagina has an ability to cleanse itself and that exposing it to the herbal steam is a bad idea. Steam would definitely not reach your uterus unless some kind of attachment is used which is strictly NOT TO BE USED. It is faulty to believe in this myth that such systems help balance the hormones, kill intestinal worms or regulate the menstrual system. Research shows that even the steamed estrogen could not cure the problem of infertility than, a mere steam would not help anyone rather it might potentially harm you.
The best suggestions to relax you vagina is to have an orgasm or go for a good massage.
Keep it safe!
