Kesari Modak

Ingredients
  • 1 cup

Method of Preparation
  • Combine the mava (khoya) and powdered sugar in a heavy bottomed pan and cook on a slow flame and stir it till the sugar has dissolved (approximately 5 to 10 minutes).
  • Keep the mixture aside and mix cardamom powder in it. Allow it to cool.
  • Now, divide the mixture in two portions., 2/3 & 1/3.
  • Add pistachios to the 1/3 portion & saffron to 2/3 portion.
  • Make round balls of the both the portions.
  • Stuff each saffron round with pistachio round and try to seal the edges by giving a modak shape or you can use modak mould to get the desired shape.

Tip:

Modak moulds are available in the market. Stuff wit with modak mixture & demould. Do nor forget to grease the mould with ghee before use.
