Strawberry Almond Valentine Cake

  • 2 cups
  • 2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 1/2 cups

Method of Preparation
  • Take a round baking tin and dust it lightly with flour and keep aside.
  • Sift all-purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda through a sieve and keep aside.
  • In a separate bowl whisk fresh cream, condensed milk and almond essence together until well combined.
  • Pour the flour mixture slowly into the cream mix and combine well. Add milk and gently mix again.
  • Transfer the cake batter into the baking tin and place it in a pre-heated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 30 minutes.
  • Prick with a toothpick in the middle of the cake to check if it’s done.
  • Allow the cake to rest on a cooling rack for an hour.
  • After the cake has cooled down cover it with whipped cream. Coat the sides with almond flakes and top it with fresh strawberries.
  • PS- This is a light eggless version for a tea time cake. It is not very sweet and a tastes perfect with afternoon teas.
