Lara Dutta, name that needs no introduction, she is a well known name in Bollywood, beauty queen, producer and model. Lara Dutta turns 36 today. Here are some known some unknown facts about the former Miss Universe.

We all know Lara Dutta was Miss Universe title in the year 2000. But how many of you knew that she has scored highest ever by any pageant in the history of the contest. Most of the judges gave her highest score of 9.99.

When asked what she thought of protests against the Miss Universe pageant, she said, “I think pageants like Ms Universe gives us young women a platform to foray in the fields that we want to and forge ahead – be it entrepreneurship, be it the armed forces or be it politics. It gives us a platform to voice out choices and opinions and makes us strong & independent.”

Lara also had highest score in swimsuit round in Miss Universe pageant. The funny part is she dint knew how to swim. And it was on the sets of her debut film ‘Andaaz’ she almost got drowned, and the reel life hero Akshay Kumar came to rescue and became the real hero.

Lara comes from Defence background. Her father is a Wing Commander (retired) in Indian Air Force. Her elder sister Sabrina is also officer in Air Force.
