Priety ZintaPreity Zinta: The atmosphere around us is absolutely horrendous. Women have to face both, uncertainty and fear not just about their careers but also lives. Remedial solutions are needed otherwise lives of people will become more self-centered. People, nowadays, react to crimes when they happen in their homes and not when they have to stand for a friend or any unknown individual. In the coming five years, we will face nearly 500 more horrible crimes against women, each more gruesome than the previous. In such conditions, are we supposed to just give up, have a simple candle light march and then get back to our regular lives? Most of us are absolutely blank about these issues. Safety of women is completely missing. With every crime recorded, we are actually watching the death of the law system. And the only way to save it is a miracle.

amrita raoAmrita Rao: For any working woman, stepping out of her home, the city is absolutely unsafe. For us celebrities, there are bodyguards protecting us from such people and unwanted attention. But, when we wish to hang out with our female pals, we have no idea about where to go without boys staring, ogling and jostling at us. Once out in the open, we feel unsafe. Most of the crimes take place from midnight to 5 am in the morning. I recently raised my voice to save a woman being thrashed by a local rickshaw driver.

sophie choudharySophie Chowdhary: Being brought up in London, we always had a broad mindset. When we sifted from London to Mumbai, we were absolutely convinced that the city is surely the safest place in the entire world. But sadly, it is not anymore. Crimes against women in India are horrific. Women have become a soft target due to the lack of strict laws. My main concern was security when I was purchasing my new home. But, how can we be safe when there are stories of women being molested and attacked by their watchmen, neighbors and friends? You have to be on your guard every minute if you are a single female in Mumbai.

swara-bhaskarSwara Bhaskar: Is Mumbai Safe? The answer is Yes and No. Well, Yes because commuting in the city is easy at any time of the day or night. And No because you are molested, harassed and eve-teased every now and then, no matter where you are or who you are. Mumbai has become one of the most unsafe cities in the country recently. You have to learn to deal with these things from a very young age.
