Pink Jersey by South Africa cricket to support breast cancer awareness

As the 1st ODI between India and South Africa started, everybody was astonished to see the South African team in Pink Jersey. The viewers expected to the team to be in their traditional green uniform.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) answered the question which was about to be asked. Cricket South Africa is supporting breast cancer awareness and has set December 5 as ‘Pink Day’.

Not only the team but the board also urged cricket fans to support the cause by wearing pink. The board had also organized lot of activities to engage fans throughout the day. The activities included Man of the Match award which was to be presented by the ‘best-dressed child’ under the age of 12. The ‘best-dressed family’ got a chance to interact with players of the South African team was also a part of this awareness program.

The team had worn the pink jersey once earlier this year during their ODI match against Pakistan in March at the Wanderers. Both the games in which Proteas wore the pink jersey, they won.
