Pregnant Man Gives Birth To Baby Girl In Argentina

Argentinean transgender parents delivered their first baby via C-section in Entre Rios province. Alexis Taborda (26) and Karen Bruselario (28) are the parents of the baby.

Karen lives as woman but was born as man and Alexis lives as man but was born as woman. Argentina passed a law in May 2012 in which people can change their genders without gender change surgery. Gender Identity Law was passed by Argentinean government in May 2012, and the couple had changed their gender using the law. This means that Alexis became the man, got pregnant via natural means and was carrying the baby.

Due date for baby was December 22nd via Cesarean section, but Alexis started having contractions on a week early. And he was taken to hospital where the doctors performed C-section and baby was out earlier than expected. It was a baby girl that weighed 9.37 pounds and was named as Genesis Evangelina at Fermin Salaberry Hospital in Victoriain.

Karen and Alexis are not only the first transgender couple to give birth to a baby in Argentina, but they are also the first transgender couple who got married while groom was pregnant. They tied the knots officially in November 2013.
