Prince George to Have Wild Time

Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their first born into the world on July 23rd of this year. Speaking for the first time since then, Prince William revealed his plans for the nursery of their bundle of joy. Speaking to CNN’s Max Foster, William revealed that the new parents have decided to go with an African-themed for their Prince George, their baby boy.

Speaking in a one-hour special with CNN (titled Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope), the proud 31-year old dad said that the Duchess and he wanted to have toy elephants and rhinos around the room. The room would be covered in bushes, and in a statement evoking Mowgli, Rudyard Kipling’s dashing lead from The Jungle Book, the parents would make the baby grow up as though he was in the bush.

Well, the Duke is here!

The Duke of Cambridge is hardly trying to ape Kipling, though. Clarifying further, he discussed how he hopes that his son would one day be able to enjoy the same Africa he and Prince harry once experienced as young boys. He wants to introduce the magical and fascinating land to his son, complete with its endangered species, early on. This land was first introduced to him by Prince Charles, his father and his late mother, Princess Diana. The land really does hold a special place in the Duke’s heart, because it was here that the first-time parents got engaged. As readers might remember, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got engaged in October 2010 during a private holiday in Kenya. The Duke’s comments, and his love for Africa, are in sharp contrast to the atrocities subjected on the people of Africa by British rulers of the past, who pillaged through the land, looking for resources, and exploited and oppressed the locals.

Talking about the apple of his eye, the Duke commented on how quickly the new born really is growing. The Duke has revealed that Prince George is turning out to be a bit of fighter, constantly wriggling around and refusing to sleep. Like any first-time parents, even the royal couple has their hands full with the idiosyncrasies of their son. The proud dad also went on to compare his son to either him or his brother, when they were young. Following in his father’s footsteps, Prince George really is doing well.

Meanwhile, the Duchess has reportedly been relying on her friend Anne Allen’s advice as she prepares her family’s new home at 1A, Kensington Palace. Anne is with the London-based company Impey and Allen. They have also been spotted shopping at Bernard Thorp in London’s Chelsea area. Greg Kinsella, creative director of Bernard Thorp said that the Duchess has very clear ideas about the ambience she wants to create, and that she has a wide canvas of interests. They also shopped at Bennison Fabrics, which is known for its hand-printed fabrics. Allen and Kate also paid a visit to a Nu-Line showroom in Ladbroke Grove. The Duchess seemed to have done her research well, and knew exactly what she was looking for, at each one of these pit stops.
