Sexually Abused – Kalki Koechlin Reveals About Her Horrifying Childhood

Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin recently disclosed the dark secrets of her childhood during an interview with NDTV. She spoke about how she was sexually abused during the most innocent stage of her life.

In the interview, Kalki said that she never wished to talk about this on any public platform as people make it a headline instantly. Child sexual abuse is not a Headline; it is a reality that many people, including she herself lives with everyday. Kalki further stated that she has also met many other women, especially a few close friends who have been through this same situation at some or the other point of life. Child sexual abuse is very much prevalent in the society today, and needs to be tackled rightly. It is a topic that should no longer be ignored.

Talking to NDTV, Kalki also said that almost 53 % children in India suffer from Child Sexual Abuse. This is majorly caused due to improper sexual education provided in schools. She said, people now need to break their silence and talk about CSA openly or take help from professionals such as Psychiatrists or any trusted family member. You can also take help from a trusted organization or social set up who can help you fight CSA. People should no longer feel shy of such issues and instead take help immediately.

When asked why she never spoke about this issue earlier, to which Kalki promptly said, “The problem about talking about it publicly is there’s also the danger, it just becomes a shocking headline and somebody who has gone through CSA is not a headline, that’s a reality they have lived with all of their life.”

Before the interview with NDTV, Kalki had also spoken on child Sexual abuse at a conference held by H.E.A.L, Rahul Bose’s NGO. She also made a headline due to her speech on the International women’s Day.

Kalki is one of the very few celebrities who have always shared her thoughts about Women issues openly and has also stared in a small satirical video made on the Violent acts against Women in India.
