Teach Your Teenager Social Responsibility By Being One

People, especially the young and middle aged adults are impressed by men and women who are fighting for a cause. They support these groups and at times, take an active part in the fight. The result could be a winning experience or an utter loss.

Thinking and working to improve the world is necessary and important. The future is the growing teenager, if every parent works to mould their child/children to be a responsible person then these fights for causes will not arise. Youth will make the world a better place to live.
It is essential to understand that every child has to be handled differently because every one is unique. Yet, there are a few general aspects that may be useful.

  • Buy what is necessary

More than the teenagers, adults are generally known to spend a lot of money on things that are unnecessary. The reason for doing so is that they must possess more than what others have. Seeing this children also do the same. So, first of all it is important that parents stop their extravagance and set an example.

  • Lessons in economy

Involve your teenage children when you note down your monthly expenditure. Once you have your shopping list ready, ask the youngster to check and assist you to reduce the expense. Share the money saved with them. Following the same routine every time you shop may make them understand ways of saving money.

Besides these, it is also important to make them realise that the universe is filled with people varied cultural background. Most of them different from yours. Thus, they need to be taught to have an open mind and accept these diverse thoughts. They also need to understand that boys and girls are equal in all respects. Once they learn to treat everyone as equals, most of the political and social problems that we face today can be minimized.
Helping them to understand that the environment needs
to be kept fresh and unpolluted and that each and every individual is responsible for keeping the neighbourhood clean.

Once, today’s teens are taught to question and think about the consequences, they will learn and help others realize their social and moral responsibility towards the family and society
Your own actions and responsibility towards the society will help your child learn to be a responsible youth and young adult of tomorrow.
