Vadodara City Shows It Support For Women Rights Via “Run for Women Safety”

Vadodara city had conducted a marathon on Sunday, 12th Jan, on World’s Daughter’s Day. “Run for Women Safety” marathon had the motto to support Women rights in the society. Nearly 35,000 people ran the marathon that was organized by Sri Balaji Medical & Education Charitable Trust. There were some big names present during the marathon, Zeenat Aman, Radhikaraje Gaikwad (Queen of Vadodara), Pujniya Dwarkeshalalji along with City Mayor and Corporator. The marathon was flagged started by Zeenat Aman at 3 pm at Wagodia cross roads. Bollywood singer, who got famous for the song Ramleela, Bhumi Trivedi was also present in Vadodara for the concert held after the event.

Total 33,756 participants took part in this event and all have been rewarded with a certificate.

To entertain the contestant, the students of New Heaven Vidhyalaya and Sadhna Dance & Music Academy had arranged instrumental orchestra on the route.

Zeenat Aman was very impressed by the crowd that was gathered during the event. She said, “It is very impressive that a large number of people have gathered and participated in ‘Run for Women Safety’. It is good to see that people of India are getting aware of such social issues of the country. I wish if this scenario develops in the whole country then, Baat Ban Jaye”.

Radhikaraje Gaikwad, the queen of Vadodara, said, “I am from Delhi and has traveled in many countries but I can say this with proud that there is no place safer than Vadodara. I am so proud that I am Gujarati and stay in Vadodara.”

The mayor of the city and the corporator both appreciated the success of the event and enthusiasm of all the participants.
