Women during war

Women During War

Wars are always despised by most yet they have been an inevitable part of our history and still continue to be a significant struggle for mankind. There are undoubtedly two undisputed king of all wars of this human dominated planet, world war one and world war two. Everyone remorse’s the years of those years till date and will continue to do so for years to come. There are two most prominent topics of thought related to these wars. One loss of huge human life and second the heroes during the war phase. I am not trying to be patronizing but there is a doubt in my mind why is it that only men who participated in the war are sought after. How the efforts of what women did went UN-noticed. So I have just tried to highlight that even in those grim days’ women played an important role in motivating and creating a relaxing environment.

During world war one the women got their opportunity to showcase that they can not only run a home but help in efficient running of a troubled world. At the times of war lots of young men were needed to be in the battle field. This left the responsibility of ensuring smooth running of the cities on the reliable shoulders of women. Women replaced men at several fields like transport, factory jobs etc. these jobs were previously observed only by their male counterpart. Additionally Women air force and lady army was also developed within the great British army.

Yong women also volunteered to be nurses during the war providing much needed health care to injured soldiers and even more essentially motivation.

Another profession women under took during the war period was farming. As most men were busy fighting women were the ones who took the responsibly of performing male oriented physically strenuous task. In short men were busy destroying the world and women were feeding the hungry.

Women also aided in men’s mission of the war. They also worked in factories producing arsenal for the army. It was a very risky job as there was a lot of radiation in the factories. This did not deter their courage and wiliness to help when needed.

Similar to the First World War women observed all the roles men are meant to during world war two. Additionally they also took up weapons and joined as combat forces. They also acted as the agents of armies and governments to broad cast their news to the people in the city. They were the voice of the war in the cities.

It is essential to highlight not only did women do all this but they also did this voluntarily. This they did despite the fact that most families of these brave and courageous women were against the idea of them performing these tasks. It is ironic that when people remember these epic wars they focus on the destruction, strategies and loss of life.No thought is rendered to the kind and brave women of that era. They kept the world afloat with their sheer ability to support and motivate everyone involved in the war be it directly or indirectly. Hope they will someday get their due respect. I devote my utmost gratitude to their determination and role in the wars.
