Look Every Inch a College Fashionista during Monsoons

It is exciting to see rain fall and caress the parched earth. No doubt, rains are beautiful. Cleaner and greener leaves, fresh air and long rides define monsoon. At the same time, fashion takes a back seat. It is a difficult task to look nice without compromising on your style. Girls often shy away from rains as they have no clue what to wear to their colleges and for group outings. Without much effort you can still look as stylish as you do in the summers. So what are the accessories and apparel that should be brought out from your wardrobe that will make you College Fashionista?

  • Shorts and Skirts: Monsoon has its own share of murky waters and potholes. Why not navigate them wearing cut-offs and shorts? The knee length skirts look quite glamorous and modish as college wear. Team them up with tees and make a style statement. Make sure you ditch your denims to avoid looking like a wet kitten.
  • Tops and Tees: There is absolutely no need to lend shoulder to the gloomy weather with dull tops. Bring out the funky greens and yellows you have and add color. Tank tops work best in the rains and so do the loose tees.
  • Colorful Umbrellas: Black umbrellas can look dull. Trade them for colorful umbrellas. Today, it is easier to find umbrellas in various shapes too.
  • Raincoats: You will find that there are raincoats that are quite stylish. They come in vivacious and classy designs. Cover yourself up in these rain gears and look gorgeous.
  • Footwear:  Put your leather shoes and heels. The flip-flops, ballerinas, floaters and sandals rule the roost. Monotones are best avoided as color is the rule.
  • Jewelry: Beads look great with any monsoon outfit. They are not affected by rain water and look excellent. Try not to overdo and keep things at a minimal mode.
  • Bags: Going to college with water dripping from your books won’t bode well with your professors. Keep your books safe and dry in trendy waterproof college bags. Your expensive bags won’t last in the heavy downpour.
  • Makeup: Rains wash off almost everything. Why should it wash off your makeup? Splurge on waterproof mascara and Kajal. Stick to matte finish in sober tones as too much of bright colors will make you look like a Christmas tree.
