Apply Blush in the Professional Way

Ladies often refrain from applying blush. They are afraid of overdoing it. But you can still achieve the perfect look if you know which shade suits you. We should select the shade depending on our age and skin tone. This will provide a clean and dignified look.

To find out which shade will suit you, pinch your cheeks a bit. Your skin will be flushed. This is the natural tone of your skin while you blush. Select a shade that is closer to it. If you have oily skin, go in for a powdered blush. While, cream based blushes will suit dry skin. There are different brands of blushes available. If you are unable to find the perfect shade, ask for help from the makeup assistants at the counter.

It is always better that you choose the shade that will highlight the best features of your face. Buy only blush brushes so that you will get a good end result.

Now situate yourself in front of a well lit mirror. Complete the regime that is needed for a perfect makeup like prepping your face, using foundation, concealer and bronzer. Dust off excess blush if you are using a powdered blush. It is better to use a little so that it is possible to make alterations.

Make a fish face. This will emphasize your cheek bones. You will be able to find out the apple of your cheek. It will be a good idea to apply blush in an upward motion along your cheekbone. This will give your face a slimmer look.

If you are using a gel based blusher, then dot the area of the apple and blend it well. Never brush diagonally. It won’t provide a natural look. Always keep translucent powder at hand. You can use it to cover up if your cheeks look excessively colored. Try to maintain a symmetrical look on your other cheek also.

To complete the look, keep your lipstick shade opposite to the shade of the blush. If your blush is light, go for a dark shade lipstick and vice-versa.

Those who are in their 20s can choose pink and peach shades of blush. Dusky skin tones will look good with warmer shades such as coffee and browns. Ladies in their 30s and above should go in for a muted tone in semi matte finish.

The basic rule is – Moderation.
