Holi – Play Safe With Natural Holi Colors

Happy Holi!! So, all geared up to play the beautiful festival of colors with your family and friends? Make sure you have loads of colors, some thandai and also the traditional white dress to enjoy your Holi with your friends. But, have you chosen safe natural colors or the simple colors that are made from harmful chemicals?

Keep yourself away from chemical colors for a healthy hair and skin. Here are some reasons why you should choose these natural colors for Holi.

Natural Holi colors

Regular synthetic colors are made from harmful chemicals such as Lead Oxide, Aluminum bromide, Copper sulphate and Mercury sulphite. Also, according to a recent study performed by the Industrial Toxicology Research Center, Lucknow, the beautiful scarlet color, usually preferred by people is made from a dye called Rhodamine B which is banned in several countries due to its severe carcinogenic properties.

In contrast, the natural colors although a bit expensive, are made from turmeric (yellow), annatto (orange), Black carrots (pink) and plant leaves (green).

Hair and Skin protection

When you play with these synthetic Holi colors, you may suffer from aggravation of pre-existing dermatoses, nail fold inflammation, discoloration, abrasion and contact dermatitis. These colors also have a bad effect on the hair and cause extreme hair loss and also dryness.

However, when playing with natural colors, you don’t have to think about any of these side-effects.

Easy on clothes

Usually, when people play Holi, they wear their old clothes due to the fear of harsh stains that are almost impossible to wash off.

The natural colors are not just good for your skin, but also your clothes. These colors disappear easily in just one wash.

Environment Friendly

After we play Holi, we almost forget about how these synthetic colors get disposed in the drains. They pollute the water, air and environment.

On the contrary, the natural colors are absolutely eco-friendly and do not cause any biodiversity.

So, splash as much water as you want on your friends and play Holi with natural colors for a healthy and beautiful you.
