Treating Itchy Scalp with Home Remedies

You can have a cup of hot coffee to get rid of the cold, but an itchy scalp is something that irritates us all through the season. If not taken care of in time, an itchy scalp leads to dandruff and hair-fall. Hence, here are a few simple but effective home remedies to help you get rid of an itchy scalp and take good care of your hair.

  • Vinegar: Take a mug full of water and pour into it 1 tablespoon vinegar. After you have washed your hair with a mild hair shampoo, use this water to rinse your hair. Leave it for a while and rinse your hair one last time. This will help you get some relief from the itchy scalp.

  • Fenugreek seed paste: Take a handful of fenugreek seeds. Soak them overnight in a bowl of water. In the morning, make a paste of these seeds and apply it carefully on your scalp and all through your hair. Apply carefully all over your scalp. Leave it on your hair for 20 to 30mins. Then wash your hair using a mild shampoo. Make sure you don’t rub your hair vigorously as it may lead to hair fall. Wash your hair gently. This will help reduce excessive hair-fall and also treat dandruff, one of the most common problems in the monsoon season.Yellow lemon

  • Lemon: During the monsoon season, one another most commonly faced hair problem is excessive oil on the scalp which leads to greasy and itchy scalp. In order to cure greasy hair and enjoy nice and bouncy hair, dilute some lemon juice in water and apply it all across your hair and scalp after you rinse your hair with a mild shampoo. Leave it on for some time and then rinse it carefully before your final wash.

  • Neem Paste: Take some neem leaves and make a paste. Apply this paste all through your hair and scalp. Neem, being a disinfectant, will help cure dandruff and also keep away infections from your scalp.
