Mother’s unconditional love and dedication won my father’s heart and today she is getting it all back in kind. What I have learnt from them? Love requires no mansions, luxurious materialism but it seeks for trust, respect, patience and standing together parallel, no matter what are the situations. When I denied an arrange marriage this is what mother said, “I Found True Love In An Arranged Marriage.” And thus I found this story!

Every time anyone asks me this question I have no idea how to answer. So, I have a variety of reactions – from just a glaring stare to a “I don’t know” shrug to resting bitch face – which totally depends on who is asking me. If a cute guy asks this, I make some flirty comments. 😉
Technically, I have been a single for the last 5 years; it means that the last time I was in a committed relationship was a decade ago. In the last 5 years, I have had a couple of flings, one “what is this” kind of relationship (we both knew we liked each other but it never materialized into anything concrete) and even met two guys my parents had introduced to me as prospective-husband candidates.

Born and brought up in the cultural city of Vadodara, it was like a dream to get married to the love of my life, despite the little struggles. My husband was a party animal and he loved taking me along to all his booze parties. As a loving and caring wife, I would tell him to drink less and each time his friends would come and drop him till our bed room. I would constantly make him understand about his responsibilities, his health and that he was now father to our young daughter. But sadly, he just turn a deaf ear to all my concerns.

One day something unusual happened. It gave me chills.

On the 15th January Uttrayan 2016 evening 9.30 p.m, I received a call from one of his friends. He was Dead.

Is marriage so IMPORTANT? Why can’t I stay single as much as I want? Why does a GIRL always have to make a move out of her comfort zone? Why She has to stay with a Guy’s family? Marriage… A notion that has constantly evolved with the passing time and generations! When I say evolved, I mean the meaning of marriage and its rules!
